Welcome to study Japanese! We start from scratch, so the level is suitable for complete beginners.
We will practice basic vocabulary and structures of the language in various practical situations. After the course, you will recognize the hiragana script, be able to briefly introduce yourself and your relatives, and handle small transactions in a café and at a ticket counter. In addition, we will get acquainted with Japanese culture and the particular features of its society. Learning material: Michi 1 – The Path to the Japanese Language, chapters 1-3.

This course falls under general courses in language studies, where all aspects of the language are practiced: listening and reading comprehension, speaking, and writing. Welcome to continue studying Japanese with us!
This course is suitable for you if you have studied Japanese 24 lessons in Adult education centre or independently. We will practice basic vocabulary and structures in various practical situations. Languages of instruction: English, Japanese, and Finnish. We will review and practice new native hiragana and katakana characters. Topics include, among others, traveling by different means of transport, telephone conversations, annual events, and dining at restaurants. As for structures, we will practice telling time, days of the week, prices, making suggestions, and invitations. We will continue to explore the specific features of Japanese culture and society.
Learning material: Michi 1 – The Path to the Japanese Language, chapters 9-11.
